Welcome to Cost-ralia!

Jet-lagged, hungry, and excited!

sunny 27 °C

We finally arrived in Sydney, where the sun is shining and the food is expensive! Our ultra-marathon, 20-hour flight from Toronto was pretty uneventful. I slept and Jess didn't and we all know what that means! Luckily for me the excitement took over any potential crankiness.

It's now 5 AM on Monday we are wide awake after our 7 PM bedtime last night. So far we managed to catch our first glimpse of the Opera house, walk through the Royal Botanical Gardens and find gluten free pizza in the Rocks, a historic market / restaurant area tucked under the Harbour Bridge. The weather was a far cry from the winter temps back home, with the sun shining and high 20's!

Here we are, jet-lagged and starving, in front of the Sydney Opera House.

Now that we've got a long morning ahead of us, a trip to the hotel gym is in order before we set out to find breakfast and explore Sydney. We've got until 3 PM to explore before we head back to the airport for our flight to Cairns - where we'll be snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef and exploring the Daintree Rainforest.

We'll catch up from Cairns!

And we're off...

overcast 4 °C

After months of planning, Jess and I are finally off on our extended honeymoon. We will be travelling the East Coast of Australia, hitting all the hot spots from Cairns (Queensland) in the North to Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road (Victoria) in the South from December 6th through January 8th.

Jess and I have created this blog so that we can share with our family and friends, parts of our trip. We will try to update daily to share photos and highlights.
